ABOUT EDWARD BAYUK
Experience. Leadership, Service.
Edward Bayuk is a longtime Laguna Beach resident whose career has spanned business leadership, emergency communications, public service, and community involvement.
Throughout his professional life, Edward has worked in environments where sound judgment, accountability, preparedness, and the ability to bring people together weren't simply desirable — they were essential.

BUSINESS & EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP
Proven leader. Strategic thinker. Results-driven.
Edward brings decades of private-sector leadership experience, including senior executive roles in the electrical, petroleum, energy, and automotive service industries. He has managed organizations, people, operations, and budgets while delivering results in competitive and highly regulated environments.
This background gives Edward a practical understanding of how organizations work, how to solve complex problems, and how to make sound decisions that create value for the community.

EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS
& PREPAREDNESS
Prepared when communication matters most.
Edward brings extensive experience in emergency communications, helping organizations maintain critical communications when conventional systems are disrupted or unavailable.
His work has included emergency communications supporting the U.S. Coast Guard during Hurricane Katrina and later involvement with Collins Aerospace UrgentLink, a nationwide high-frequency emergency communications network.
That experience shaped Edward's approach to preparedness: plan before the emergency, build resilient systems, communicate clearly, and make sound decisions when circumstances change quickly.
For Laguna Beach—where wildfire, evacuation, earthquakes and power outages are real concerns—Edward believes preparedness and reliable communication are essential responsibilities of local government.

PUBLIC SERVICE & CIVIC LEADERSHIP
Experience serving beyond the private sector.
Edward's commitment to public service extends beyond his business career. He has served in public appointments under both Democratic and Republican leadership, bringing professional experience, independent judgment, and a practical approach to public responsibilities.
His experience has taught him that effective public service isn't about ideology—it's about understanding the issue, listening to different perspectives, asking difficult questions, and making responsible decisions on behalf of the people you serve.
Edward brings that same philosophy to Laguna Beach: listen first, work collaboratively, remain accountable, and put the community ahead of politics.

COMMUNITY & LAGUNA BEACH
A resident. A neighbor. A commitment to Laguna Beach.
Edward understands that Laguna Beach is more than a city—it is a community with a remarkable character, history, natural environment, and fiercely independent spirit.
Protecting what makes Laguna Beach special requires balancing many competing needs: preserving neighborhoods and open space, supporting local businesses, maintaining public safety, addressing infrastructure, and managing change without losing the qualities residents value most.
Edward believes residents deserve a City Council that listens before it acts, explains its decisions, respects differing viewpoints, and remembers that local government ultimately belongs to the people it serves.
For Edward, serving Laguna Beach means bringing people together around practical solutions while protecting the character of the community we call home.
